Thank you for choosing to use Kirana Dukaan ("we", "us", "our", or "the App"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our Android application.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

Kirana Dukaan is fundamentally an offline-first application.

• We do not require you to create an online account with us.
• We do not transmit your store's inventory, billing data, customer data (such as names or phone numbers), or ledger (Udhaar) records to any external servers owned by us.
• All your business data is saved strictly locally on your device using a local database (Room SQLite Engine).

2. Permissions We Request and Why

To provide the core functionality of the App, we request the following permissions:

• Camera (android.permission.CAMERA): We require camera access solely to use the barcode scanner (via Google ML Kit). We do not record video, take photos, or send your camera feed over the internet. The barcode scanning happens entirely locally on your device.
• Internet (android.permission.INTERNET): The app requires internet access for two main reasons:
  1. To redirect you to the WhatsApp application to share bills/receipts with your customers.
  2. To serve advertisements via Google AdMob (see the "Third-Party Services" section).

3. Data Backup and Security

• Local JSON Backups: You can manually export and import a backup of your database. This backup file is stored locally in your device's Downloads folder. You are responsible for the security of this backup file.
• Google Drive Auto Backup: Depending on your Android device settings, your app data may be automatically backed up to your personal Google Drive account through Android's built-in Auto Backup feature. We do not have access to this backup.

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify you.

• Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to display advertisements within the App. AdMob may collect and use data (such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, and location data if enabled on your device) to show personalized or non-personalized ads. You can manage your ad preferences through your Android device settings (Settings > Google > Ads).

• Google ML Kit: Used for on-device barcode scanning. While processing happens on-device, it may send crash logs or diagnostic data to Google to improve the service.

5. Children's Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers (though, as stated, we do not store data on servers).

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this document.
